Destiny 2: Lightfall: Quicksilver Storm Catalyst VFX

Quicksilver Storm's "Nano-Entanglement" Catalyst converts the entire weapon to the Strand damage type, enabling the bullets, rockets, and grenades to deal Strand Damage

The bullets use the Strand contrail and visual language I created in collaboration with Mark Flieg for all Strand damage weapons, while the rockets and grenades required some additional and new VFX to help convey the fact that they now deal Strand Damage.

Nanotech Tracer Rockets now fire in Strand flavor when the catalyst is equipped.

Grenades detonate in Strand explosions as well, weaving defeated combatants into Tangles

I had the pleasure of working on Quicksilver Storm's Catalyst, "Nano-Entanglement", which released as part of Destiny 2: Lightfall. The Catalyst completely converts the weapon into dealing Strand damage throughout its bullets, rockets, and grenades, which needed accompanying visual changes in order to convey. I took the base weapon VFX created by Mark Flieg and flavored them with the Strand visual language, while also setting it up to use the base Strand weapon VFX I helped create.
