Raw Solar and Stasis energy spill out of each barrel, indicating the respective damage type for each.
Slower moving Stasis crystals perfectly compliment the fast moving Solar flames.
Conditional Finality fires a high-powered, short range Stasis shot that instantly freezes targets if enough pellets land, while the second ignites with Solar
Each side uses it's energy as the shot is fired. I also adjusted the muzzle flash to fire from each respective barrel.
With it being a sawn-off shotgun, I felt the gun needed to have some extra nasty firing fx, as if it was ejecting raw bits of Solar/Stasis energy with each shot
Landing enough pellets freezes targets instantly with the first shot...
...while the second shot immediately triggers a large solar ignition with enough landed pellets.
Conditional Finality is the new Raid exotic releasing in the Root of Nightmares raid, alongside Destiny 2: Lightfall. I had the pleasure of doing the ambient, firing, and all other VFX for it, working along side Ryan Choi on the Hard-Surface side to enhance his excellent art.
Our first true double-barrel shotgun, Conditional Finality is a high-powered, nasty, dual-element shotgun that fires raw solar/stasis energy, immediately freezing/igniting targets unfortunate enough to get in your way. I wanted the art to reflect the pure power this gun had, as well as reflecting the harmony of light and dark that is heavily featured in the raid.
