This was an effect created for consideration for the 2020 Winter update for Team Fortress 2. The goal of this project was to create a themed particle system for taunts that would make it appear as if the player model was standing in the middle of a puddle of swirling, steaming cocoa, while also attaching a steam-like effect to the player model itself. The original concept and marshmallow sprite was created by Steam user Spectral Chuck, with design help and promotional assets created by Steam user Bonk Nickeltoon. I was in charge of creating the particle system and overall design and look. Steam user Phe helped do paintovers with the thumbnail, and also provided technical knowledge that aided in the promotional video.

The system has a total of ~350 particles maximum on screen at any given time, making it not computationally expensive to have running for extended periods of times. The particle system itself was created inside Source's Particle Editor Tool, with the marshmallow sprite created in photoshop and promotional poster and video created with Source Filmmaker
